ANNE MONROE
Jackson County Education Association Anne Monroe is seeking the office of District 5 Director for the Alabama Education Association. She is an elementary and middle school science and history teacher. She has been an active member in AEA for all of her teaching career. She has served on the Policies and Procedures Commission and is currently serving on the Educational Policy and Professional Practice Commission. She was appointed by Governor Bentley to serve on the ESSA Title Programs Committee.

Fairfield Education Association Monquelle Shamburger is a high school teacher at Fairfield High Preparatory School in Fairfield, AL. She is currently the treasurer of Fairfield Education Association. She has been an active member for 16 years. As a member, Monquelle has served on the Resolutions Commission, completed B.E.L.L. Team training, and was elected as a state delegate in 2012. Jefferson County ESP Cassandra F. Childress is a secretary in the Central Office Building Human Resources Department for Jefferson County Board of Education. She has been with this school system for over 20 years and a member of AEA for that period of time as well. She serves as her local president, and state ESP Board secretary. She is a graduate of Emerging Leaders, past member of the B.E.L.L. Team, and former ESP representative.

Jefferson St. Community College Active I have been an active member of AEA since 2011. I was a part of AEA Emerging Leaders in 2015 and I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve on the AEA Board. Currently, I am a speech professor at Jefferson State Community College. I have an Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology and presently, I am working on a Doctorate degree in Instructional Technology at the University of Alabama. Fairfield Education Association There has never been a Plan B" for me. I have wanted to become a teacher since I was in the first grade. I completed my studies at Miles College where I graduated with honors. Go Bears! My teaching career began immediately in the Bessemer City School System. I taught fourth and sixth grades. When I had the opportunity to come "home" I jumped at the chance and I entered the Fairfield City School System.

Blount County ESP For more than 15 years, Bernard has served on the AEA and ESP Boards, his local board and UniServ Council. He attends Delegate Assemblies, RAs, conferences, workshops and has been a member of AEA's Commissions. Bernard has served on numerous committees for Blount BOE; he is a Ruling Elder in his church, Head Trustee and EMT with his fire and rescue and is active in his community.

DeKalb County ESP Carol Hiett is seeking the position of president for state ESP Board. Carol is an employee of the DeKalb County Board of Education where she works as administrative assistant in the maintenance department. She has served two terms as state ESP Secretary and as an AEA Board Director for two years and currently serves as ESP District 4 Director. She has been an active ESP member for 32 years. Mobile County Education Association Captain Tom Daniel has served as a local Alabama delegate and state contact to the National Education Association (NEA) Representative Assembly for the past seven years and served as president, Mobile County Education Association (Alabama's largest local association), for the past two years. Captain Daniel's wife of 39 years Kacelia, has served as a public school teacher in Florida, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Louisiana and their adult daughter is a public school teacher in Texas.
