This is my fifth year with Attalla and I am currently teaching fifth grade science. Since beginning my career, I have earned my MA, also in Elementary Education from UA, and hope to begin the journey toward my PhD in Instructional Leadership.

DeKalb County Education Association Teresa W. Smith is seeking a position as a District 4 state delegate to the 2017 NEA Representative Assembly. Ms. Smith is currently a high school counselor in DeKalb County. She was a foreign language (Spanish) instructor and middle school counselor during the previous nine years. She has been an active member of AEA for 11 years and served as a local delegate for the 2016 NEA Representative Assembly.

Etowah County Education Association I am a graduate of Jacksonville State University. There I received my BS in Elementary Education and my MA in School Counseling/Education. I taught with Attalla City Schools for 10 years. I now reside at Carlisle Elementary School as a counselor. The transition was a new, enjoyable experience, but nothing compared to the newest experience of parenthood with my husband, Kevin to our baby girl, Erika.

Franklin County Education Association Jacqueline is a special education teacher with 17 years of experience. She has served numerous times in each officer position of her local, the Franklin County Education Association. Gadsden St. Community College Education Association Susan Williams Brown, mathematics instructor at Gadsden State Community College currently serves as president of the AEA Postsecondary Executive Committee and as president of her local. She is a member of the AEA Board, a member of the TRS Board of Control, and a former member of the NEA Board. Susan has 37 years teaching experience in both the K-12 and Postsecondary systems. DeKalb County Education Association David Holt is a career coach in DeKalb County. He has been an active member of AEA for 33 years. He is currently serving his second term on the AEA Board of Directors, District 4. He has served as a local and state leader in AEA. Northeast Community College A&E I became an active member in AEA in the late 1990's. I have been active since that time with the exception of two years I taught in Georgia. At that time I was a member of GEA. I have represented Jackson County as a state delegate for several years and as a national delegate once. I was a local/school representative at Section High School for two years and for six years at Woodville High School.
